Sport Event name Prediction
Baseball - MLB New York Mets vs. Atlanta Braves
(Syndergaard vs. Blair)
New York Mets (ML)
1.36 (Bet365.com)

The New York Mets are "on a roll" -they won 3 straight games, have full control of their Playoff destiny, and will look to make 4 Ws in a row on Monday night at Citi Field against the Atlanta Braves. New York's ace Noah Syndergaard will pitch in Game 1 tonight.  The right-hander will look to bolster his chances of becoming the club's 2nd Cy Young Award winner in the past 5-five years.  Syndergaard faced Atlanta twice a season ago during his rookie campaign, posting a 3.27 ERA across 11 innings. He enters Game 1 in top shape after going 4-1 with a 1.36 ERA in his past 6-six outings.  Noah was brilliant Tuesday, holding the Nationals to one run while striking out 10 over seven frames in a 4-3 extra-innings victory.  He is the clear favorite to win tonight.  The Braves, meanwhile, will counter with pitcher Aaron Blair. The rookie, who is looking for his first Major League win, will make his first start since August 28 after being sidelined with a left knee strain.  This shall be Blair's 4th start against New York Mets this year; He is 0-2 with an 8.04 ERA through his first 3-three outings. With that said, I am picking the New York Mets straight on the Money Line (ML), no runs.

UPDATE September 20, 2016 - FINAL Result: New York Mets 3-7 Atlanta Braves. The New York Mets very surprisingly lost at home from the Atlanta Braves.  It was "one of those games" for the Mets [excellent feed for the Conspiracy Theorists that the game was fixed], clearly signaling Vegas collected "big time" from this game, taking into account, almost everyone placed a wager on the Mets' ace Syndergaard, who lost from the heavy underdog Blair (0-2 and terrible 8.04 ERA vs. New York).  Atlanta knocked Noah Syndergaard out of the series opener in the fourth inning, tagging him for five runs in a 7-3 win over the Mets. Freddie Freeman collected 4-four hits and 3-three RBIs, finishing a triple short of the cycle, while rookie shortstop Dansby Swanson recorded 3-three hits and drove home 3-three runs in the win. Despite the loss, New York kept its lead vs. the Giants [who also lost, 1-2, from the LA Dodgers], but gave up a game of their lead against the St. Louis Cardinals in the National League Wild Card race [St. Louis won 5-3 at Colorado and tied the Giants' record of 79-71].
