Seattle Mariners vs. Milwaukee Brewers (Hernández vs. Peralta) |
Seattle Mariners (ML) - 1.38 (Bet365.com) |
Seattle is pushing hard to make the Playoffs this year. They defeated the Brewers last night 7-6 and remained 2nd in the AL West. In Game 2 of the series today they have Felix Hernandez on the mound, who struck out eight while allowing two runs over 6 2/3 innings in Monday's defeat of the Angels. Felix is 3-2 at home this year, he has 3 consecutive wins. However, he is walking a surprising number of batters - 16 over his last four starts. Despite that fact, I am expecting him to continue his winning run today. Peralta tossed six innings of one-run ball Sunday in the Brewers' win over the Reds. However, he is only 1-4 in games played away this year, with 5.46 ERA. The Brewers lost the last 3 games, thus I am picking the Mariners to win - a direct bet on the Money Line (ML) for Seattle to record its 66th win of the season [no runs].
UPDATE August 21, 2016 - FINAL Result: Seattle Mariners 8-2 Milwaukee Brewers. Mariners destroyed the Brewers in the 8th inning - Mike Zunino [who homered and drove in three runs overall in the game] doubled to right center, and Kyle Seager and Adam Lind scored. Félix Hernández pitched 8-eight strong innings and picked up his 8 win of the season. The Seattle ace couldn't pick a better time to be in top form: Mariners completed an 8-2 victory over Milwaukee, handing the Brewers their sixth straight loss. Mariners are 1-one back of the Wild card spot with 66 wins this season.
