New England Patriots - Seattle Seahawks (Option "Alt. Pt. Spread") |
New England Patriots (+1.0 Pts) 1.29 (Bet365.com) |
We turn our attention to American Football - Week 10 matchup: New England Patriots [Home team] and Seattle Seahawks will meet face to face on "Sunday Night Football", Nov. 13. The game will be played at Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, New England, at 8:30 p.m. EST start time and will be broadcasted on NBC. According to the official stats, New England Patriots lead the series 9-8. The last game between the 2 was played on 02/01/2015 with Patriots winning 28-24. The Seahawks are first in the NFC West and the Patriots lead the AFC East. In the last 3 weeks Seahawks defense allowed the opposition to pick up 32 of 52 third down attempts, i.e. 61 % of the time. New England ranks 4th offensively in converting 3rd downs at a 47%. Since quarterback Tom Brady returned from his 4 game suspension, New England has converted 29 of 52 third downs, or 56%. Tom Brady is 115-20 at home in his career. The Seahawks will be without defense lineman Michael Bennett. Tom Brady is a big fan and friend of The President-elect Donald Trump, i.e. now is Brady's turn to win a big contest, to solute his friend. Thus, I pick the Patriots with the spread of (+1.0 point) on the option (bet365) -"Alternative Point Spread". [Unless the amount to bet is specified, our predictions are generally made for a $100 wager.]
UPDATE November 16, 2016 - FINAL Result: New England Patriots 24-31 Seattle Seahawks. We just saw a [possible] preview of Superbowl LI: 2 very strong teams going at each other and battle until the very last second. The Seattle Seahawks pulled off an upset win over the Patriots in Foxborough on Sunday, beating them by 7 pts. Russell Wilson threw 3 touchdown passes to D. Baldwin, as Seattle Seahawks avenged their Super Bowl XLIX disappointment with a 31-24 win against the New England Patriots. The Seahawks quarterback completed 25 of 37 pass attempts for 348 yards and 3 TDs, while Baldwin finished with 59 yards on 6 catches. Patriots QB Tom Brady completed 72 % of his passes for 315 yards, but none of them were snagged in the end zone. The Pats took the lead in the 4th quarter 24-22, but uncharacteristically gave it away, as they missed 4 attempts to score a TD to tie the game in the last minute of the 4th quarter - Blount, who earlier rushed for 3 touchdowns, couldn't get into the end zone from a close range (Really?). I thought, we had a good "safety net" with (+1) pt. for the Pats, but it wasn't enough to cover - they lost by a TD...
