Champions League Soccer Picks

Round 3 of the European Champions League soccer tournament continues tonight:  There are 3 soccer games in our focus to present to you - in Game 1 of our selection, Paris SG hosts Basel.  Paris has 3 victories in a row, and is in the 1st place in Group A with 4 points, 4 goals scored and 2 goals allowed. Pastore will be out tonight, and T. Motta is doubtful.  Basel is in the last place in the group with only 1 point, 1 goal scored and 3 goals allowed. Traoré, Akanji and Sporar are doubtful tonight, but the rest of the team will be ready for a big game.  I see both teams to score goals, so I pick the option "Alternative Goal Line" Over 2.0 Goals, i.e., if the match total is exactly 2 goals, the Bet will be void and the wager will be refunded. In Game 2 of our selection we feature Barcelona and Manchester City.  Barcelona has won their last 4 matches against Man City in all competitions. Pep Guardiola, the coach of City, will return to the Camp Nou stadium.  Barcelona is in the 1st place in Group C with 6 points, 9 goals scored, and 1 goal received.  Man City is in the 2nd place of the group with 4 points, 7 goals scored and 3 goals allowed. The soccer pundits are predicting a draw, but I believe Barcelona will be motivated to win this game against their old coach Pep G., therefore, I pick them in the Money Line (ML) with the option "Draw No Bet", i.e., if the game is tied after 90 mins., the Bet is Void.  In the last game of our selection, Celtic will face Borussia Monchengladbach in extremely interesting competition. This is the derby of the day, and I expect an explosive match. Celtic is in 3rd place of Group C with 1 pt., 3 goals scored, and 10 goals received.  For today's match the only absent in the team is Lustig. Monchengladbach is last in Group C with 0 points and -5 goals difference.  Borussia will be without Dominguez, Doucoure, Drmic, Christensen, Raffael, Johnson, and Schulz tonight, which is significant. This is the most difficult match to predict in the UEFA Champions League Round 3 today. The bookies list the following odds: Home Win "1" - 2.62, Draw "X" - 3.60, Away Win "2" - 2.70.  With that said, I pick the home team Celtic, with a "Double Chance" option - Celtic to win or draw ("1X").

UPDATE October 20, 2016 - FINAL Results:  Paris SG  3-0  Basel,  Barcelona  4-0  Man City,  Celtic  0-2  Borussia M.   Paris SG easily defeated Basel 3-0.  As we predicted and projected, both teams played a good game and scored goals (Over 2.0 Goals). Paris SG scored 3 goals:  Di María, Lucas and Cavani (from a penalty spot kick) sealed the victory and sent Paris SG in top of Group A with 7 pts. Barcelona beat Manchester City 4-0, as we expected - Leo Messi scored a hat-trick in the 17, 61, and 69 min. of the game. In the most difficult game-derby of the day [we discussed this in great detail above], Borussia Monchengladbach won 2-0 away from home against Celtic. Stindl and Hahn scored for the visitors, who picked up an important win. The home side, Celtic, had many chances to score goals:  They've controlled the ball possession 59 (%) vs. 41 (%), but they could not capitalize on it. Unfortunately, we've lost the "double chance" option:  We snapped our Free-Pick winning streak, which stopped at 20 consecutive winners [we are expected to lose some games]. In summary, we are 2 out 3 for the day, which is "ok".
