New York Mets - Philadelphia Phillies

The New York Mets will play the 2nd game of their series against the Phillies on Saturday.  New York's Wild Card fate is in the hands of pitcher Bartolo Colón.  This will be Colón's 5th start against the Phillies this season. In the 4 previous starts, he has posted a 2.92 ERA in 24 2/3 innings, thus he is the favorite to win the game tonight. If the Mets win the game, they will come back to the lockers in preparation for big celebration.  The Phillies, will start Phil Klein, who hasn't started a game for them since September. Klein's record is 0-1 with poor 8.22 ERA.  This game is critical for New York, so with that said, I pick the New York Mets with the spread of (+1.5) Runs. 

UPDATE October 01, 2016 - FINAL Result: New York Mets  5-3  Philadelphia Phillies.  The New York Mets clinched the Wild Card berth with a great victory over the Phillies on Saturday, and on Wednesday they will be the hosts of the Wild Card game.  James Loney hit a two-run homer in the 6th inning [371 ft. to deep right, Curtis Granderson scored] to secure the lead for New York [Many websites wrongly predicted that the Phillies would win this game]. Bartolo Colón picked up his 15th Win for the year - he pitched 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 2 errors. The Mets now will wait for a resolution between the San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals to find out which team they’ll will play on Wednesday in New York.  If they happen to win the Wild Card game on Wednesday, the Mets will meet the Cubs again this year [New York defeated the Cubs last year in the Playoffs].  Note, a compelling fact - since 2009, teams played back to back series in the Playoffs 8 times, and in 7 of those 8 times the very same team won the series [from the prior year]...
