New York Mets vs. Atlanta Braves (Colon vs. Gant) |
New York Mets (+1.5 Runs) 1.32 (Bet365.com) |
New Mets and Atlanta Braves will play Game 2 of their series tonight at Turner Field. New York is seeking its 7th straight victory by sending their ace Bartolo Colon to the mound. Colon was very successful at Turner Field in his 6-six career starts, going 5-1 with a 1.51 ERA across 41 2/3 innings. He delivered an impressive outing at the same ballpark on June 26, allowing only 1-one run in 7-seven innings. Colon fired six scoreless frames in a 5-0 win over the Reds on Monday [his last game]. He is 8-4 in away games played this year with 3.02 ERA. Braves will send pitcher John Gant against Colon. The 24-year-old, who the Mets traded to Atlanta in 2015, gave up just 1-one run in 6 2/3 innings vs. New York on June 17. In his last outing, Gant allowed 4-four runs over 5-five innings in a no-decision Saturday against the Phillies. With that said, I am picking the New York Mets with the spread of (+1.5) runs.
UPDATE September 09, 2016 - FINAL Result: New York Mets 3-4 Atlanta Braves. Atlanta Braves ousted the Mets 4-3 to snap New York's 6-six-game winning streak. Combined with the Cardinals' victory over the Brewers and the Giants' victory over the D-backs, the loss dropped the Mets back outside the NL Wild Card picture. New York trails St. Louis by a half-game for the NL's second spot. Mets starter Bartolo Colon notched his 4th quality start in his last five outings, but he received a no-decision. Adonis Garcia's walk-off single capped a 10th-inning rally for the Braves and secured the victory for Atlanta in Game 2.
