Boston Red Sox - San Diego Padres

Red Sox will play Game 2 of their series vs. San Diego Padres, Tuesday, September 06.  Clay Buchholz (Boston) will get the start in the rotation in light of Steven Wright's recurring right shoulder issue. Buchholz was strong in his last stint in the rotation in mid-August, going 1-0 with a 2.70 ERA in three starts.  He is 4-3 in away games played this season with 4.26 ERA.  In his last game played on the road [on August 23], Buchholz was superb, holding the Tampa Bay Rays just to 1-one run and 5 hits [Boston won the game 2-1].  Paul Clemens will take the mound against Buchholz, hope to bounce back from his three-inning start in Atlanta last Wednesday. Clemens has found success with his curveball this season (hitters are managing just a .127 batting average against it).  He has a record of 1-2 at home with [high] 5.59 ERA. The Red Sox activated Koji Uehara from the 15-day disabled list - team's management has the hope that he can help turn around Boston's bullpen, which has posted a 5.61 ERA since Aug. 7. With that said, I am picking the Red Sox with the spread of (+1.5) runs; risky players could bet straight on the Money Line (ML) at 1.60.

UPDATE September 07, 2016 - FINAL Result: Boston Red Sox  5-1  San Diego Padres.  Boston Red Sox bounced back from their two consecutive losses and recorded the 77th win of the season by beating San Diego 5-1.  Clay Buchholz made a return to the starting rotation, and scattered eight hits and just 1-one run over 6 2/3 innings to earn the victory. He walked none and struck out 6-six and could remain a starter for the rest of the season.  Jackie Bradley Jr. and Chris Young had a back-to-back homers in the 4-fourth. The win pulled Boston Red Sox back into a tie with Toronto for 1-first place in the American League East.
