He has struggled to hold down St. Louis in his career, going 4-6 with a 5.68 ERA in 12 starts, and there is a good chance for him to be at  4-7 (#47!) after the game tonight. He will face Lance Lynn (10-6, 3.12 ERA), who has been terrific with  4-0 record, and a 1.21 ERA in his last 6 starts. He shut down the Reds 4-1 Saturday night with a 3-hit,  1-run effort in 6 IP.  St. L. Cardinals have been playing much better than the Royals recently, winning 5 straight, scoring a whopping  46  runs, including 29 in the first three games of their four-game home-and-home interleague series with the Royals. So, we expect them to win again in a close game today, as they shall be able to cover (+1.5 Run) spread.  With that said, we pick St. Louis Cardinals with the run  spread of (+1.5) runs. UPDATE: August 11, 2017: Kansas City Royals 6-8 St. Louis Cardinals. The Cardinals beat Kansas City by 2 runs: The Cardinals overcame a 3-0 deficit and took the lead with their 2nd grand slam in as many nights, this one by Dexter Fowler in the 7th! Our Wager won: $175 investment returns $235, $60 Net Profit, 34% ROI. We withheld playing and providing official MLB picks in the "Comments" section last night besides the San Diego Padres with (+2.5) R spread, a game that was a loss: The Padres had a 3-2 lead until the bottom of the 7 when they blew this game away, by allowing from that point 8 runs in 2 innings. The total hits for the game were equal for each team: SD P. with 8 hits and the C. Reds with 8 hits!!! This is your 'Red Flag' right there, when both teams produce the same Nu.# of hits, but 1 of them scores so many runs in a very short period of time!! Another similar 'fixed' game was Seattle Mariners'  loss against the Angels, 3-6. Again, the 2 teams had the same number of hits, 8 each(!). Lastly, the Twins scored 6 runs in 2 innings to beat the Brewers, as Milwaukee starter Zach Davies (13-6) allowed 7 runs, 6 earned, and career-high 11 hits and two walks while striking out just three in 5 2/3 innings?! All that happened after allowing just 3 earned runs and 19 hits over 28 2/3 inn. in his last four starts?! What a 'fix' this game was! We say, the Best Wagers are always the ones you NEVER play in the end (saved all the troubles!!!). Our MLB official record for the day: 1-1.
