New York Islanders - Detroit Red Wings - NHL

We turn again our focus to the NHL: New York Islanders (27-21-10) and Detroit Red Wings (24-25-10) will meet face-to-face tonight. The game will start at 7:30 p.m. EST at Joe Louis Arena, and will be on MSG+ 2, FS-D, NHL.TV.  New York is 2 points behind Boston for the 2nd wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Eastern Conference, but the Islanders are 7-13-4 on the road, so it is time for them to improve that record. The Red Wings are 8 points behind the Florida Panthers for 3rd place in the Atlantic Division and the Boston Bruins for the 2nd wild card from the East. Tavares scored. Greiss made 26 saves for New York (28-21-10), which opened a 9-game road trip. The win moved them into a 3-way tie with the Florida Panthers and Boston Bruins at 66 points each for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the East Conference.
