S. A. Spurs - Cleveland C. (Option 'Alt. Game Total') |
Gm. Total (U. 218.5) 1.40 (-250) (Bet365) |
San Antonio Spurs will play the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Quicken Loans Arena tonight, as the game will be available on ABC, C+ D, with tip-off set for 8:30 p.m. EST. The Spurs will face a team, who is trying to reclaim its lost rhythm after a disappointing West Coast trip. Hence, the Cavs played very well last time at home, delivering 19 3-pointers and 29 assists, 2 shy of their season high, in a lopsided win over the Phoenix Suns. Hence, Spurs are not the Phoenix Suns. They play defense when needed. Both teams will have missing players tonight, a fact that could reflect the scoring: K. Love is questionable for Cleveland, Gasol is out for the Spurs, Tony Parker is not 100% as well, so I wonder, if Popovich will sit Tony out for this game. Pop is usually experimenting during the regular season in such games. Spurs are still 2nd in the league in FG% (48%), 1st in 3 pt.% (41%), Cleveland is 3rd in 3 pt.% (38.4%). Hence, both teams shall try to play some "D". We are also experimenting a new computer modeling system, based on specific Gematria parameters. The system is clearly telling us that both teams shall cover the "Alternative Game Total" of (Under 218.5 pts.) @ Bet365. With that, I pick the 'Alternative Line' Match T. Under 218.5 pts. @ 1.40. UPDATE January 22, 2017 - Final Result: Cleveland Cavaliers 115-118 San Antonio Spurs. K. Leonard scored a career-high 41 points, LaMarcus Aldridge had 16 points and 12 rebounds, and San Antonio downed Cleveland 118-115 despite missing starters T. Parker and P. Gasol. San Antonio did not score in the final 2:47 of regulation. In the end, L. James forced K. Leonard to miss a contested fadeaway, giving the Cavs chance to win it, but James himself missed an off-balance 3 in the final second, as the teams went to the extra session tied 107-all. If any of those 2 made his shot, it would've been the game winning shot, anyhow, completing the final score to be 110-107, i.e. under 218.5 points; But, both players had NO luck at this point. So, our model was pretty close, and did ok for a "testing game" as this one. Even this was small loss of $100, we are overall UP for the day, see here.
