S. J. Sharks - Carolina Hurr. (Option 'Alt. Goal Line') |
Match Total (U 6.5 G.) 1.31 (Bet365.com) |
Wager: $144. We turn our focus to the NHL: San Jose Sharks (15-11-1) and Carolina Hurricanes (11-10-6) will meet face to face tonight: The game will start at 10:30 p.m. EST, at SAP Center, San Jose, and will be on CSCA, FSCR. Sharks will try to avoid a season-high 3rd straight loss while looking for a home win over the Carolina Hurricanes. It is important for them to win this game because they will be going on the road after that on a 4-game away trip, therefore, I believe they will get the victory tonight. Sharks are 4th in "Goals Against" and 12th in "Penalty Kill %" categories this season. The Hurricanes (11-10-6) are wrapping up their annual road trip themselves after falling 6-5 to Anaheim on Wednesday, but followed by a very solid 3-1 win over the L. A. Kings on Thursday. They are 9th in "Goals Against" and still 1st in "Penalty Kill %" categories, still showing good defense. Hence, 2 strong defense teams facing each other. The official, basic Las Vegas game line for O/U is (5.0 Goals), so 'Las Vegas is expecting' a low scoring game. With that said, I pick the "Alternative Total 2-Way" option @ BET365 - Under 6.5 Goals @ 1.31 (-310). In 2-Way markets Push rules apply. Stakes on single bets are returned, and in Parlays the selection is treated as non-runner. Unless the amount to bet is defined, our wager is $100.
UPDATE December 11, 2016 - FINAL Result: San Jose Sharks 4-3 Carolina Hurricanes. As we predicted above, the San Jose Sharks beat Carolina 4-3, despite Hurricanes' 33 shots on goal. Every time I see that stats, I wonder something might be fixed, at least with the scoring...L. Couture and K. Labanc scored 1:52 apart in the 2nd period, and backup goalie A. Dell made 30 saves to help the San Jose Sharks. Carolina forward D. Ryan scored a power-play goal at 3:42 of the third period to cut San Jose's lead to 4-3, and to screw up our bet. Both teams scored 7 goals total, above of our projection of Under 6.5 Goals, so we lost this Bet; However, I clearly stated Sharks will win, so I hope most of you took advantage of that and picked the San Jose Sharks to win the game. Even with the loss, our overall NHL record is still very solid: 11-4, i.e. 73.33%.
