S A Spurs - Charlotte Hornets (Option 'Alt. Point Spread') |
SA Spurs (+3.5 Pts.) 1.30 (Bet365.com) |
San Antonio Spurs will play the Charlotte Hornets at the Spectrum Center tonight at 7:00 pm, available on ESPN, FWSN. Spurs will put their 6-game winning streak on the line. Charlotte is 9th in rebounding, something Spurs forgot to do well in the past 5 games, so unless D. Dedmon comes back to play some minutes, they will have a problem in that area of the game. After a great start (overall 8-5), the Hornets lost some momentum, and their last 2 games ended up in losses. The Spurs are perfect on the road: 7-0, and they are expected to continue with a solid performance. Lamarcus Aldridge and Tony Parker took a rest in the last game vs. Dallas, so they will be fresh for this game. Spurs rank in the top eight in both offensive and defensive ratings. The official, basic Las Vegas line is Spurs (-5.5 pts.). With that, I pick the "Alternative Point Spread" line of Spurs (+3.5 pts.) @ BET365. [Unless the amount to bet is specified, our predictions are generally made for a $100 wager.]
UPDATE November 24, 2016 - FINAL Result: S.A. Spurs 119-114 Charlotte Hornets. San Antonio Spurs recorded nice victory on the road over Charlotte last night, providing nice and easy WIN for us (with the point spread of +3.5 pts.). K. Leonard scored a game-high 30 points on 14 of 21 shooting. This was his 5th 30-point showing this year, more than he had in his first 5 seasons combined. The Spurs are now 12-3, tying their second-best start through 15 games in franchise history. They improved to 8-0 on the road. However, I am not thrilled at all - Spurs allowed 114 points, which is extremely high. We do not want to turn ourselves into 'Mike D'Antoni's type of team'. Going back to the game - we've had 32 lead changes and 16 ties, and the game came down to the final minutes (all because of Charlotte's great rebounding, which kept them in the game). Unfortunately, the Spurs lost the rebounding battle (again) by 10 - Charlotte had 44 rebs., vs. Spurs only 34 (see above my concern over the rebounding). This is a dangerous trend for San Antonio - the Spurs were so effective in the beginning of the season because of their strong rebounding and blocking shots (especially with D. Dedmon's presence in the court). If the Spurs want to win another title, they have to be very strong in the middle, overpowering Golden State Warriors in rebounding (this is the only advantage they have, and now it seems to go away) - see our analysis of the game Spurs - Warriors. I have no idea why Dedmon is not playing, but his absence could be a huge problem for the Spurs, defensively. Remember, what I said during the pre-season - if Gregg Popovich does not make vital mistakes, the Spurs have a legitimate chance of winning a title; Benching of D. Dedmon could be costly to the Spurs in a long run, unless they find a way to replace his blocks and rebounding stats. Let's also look at some Gematria: Conspiracy Theorists, here are some clues for you to digest: The Spurs scored 119 points. The phrase "Spurs one one nine"= 84 in Latin Reduction Gematria. Note, "Black Magic"= 84 as well, in English Kabbalah #3. The Hornets scored 114 points. Note, "Black Magic"= 114 in English Kabbalah. The game was aired on ESPN. Note, "ESPN"= 86 in English Kabbalah #2, but so does "Black Magic"= 86 in Latin Gematria. (It is all about brainwashing of the population).
Comments: I just got an email-comment from a guy, stating "why do you give bad information, the Spurs (+3.5) pts. is (-400), not (+130)". Let me reply to this person immediately and officially here: First of all, our information is CORRECT, dear friend (We've got Donald Trump projected to be President long before everyone else!): (-400) is the U.S. numerical (format) system for odds, and it equals 1.25 in Decimal (format) system for odds in Europe (you have to lay our $400 to win $100, or $100 to win $25, i.e. 25% payout-net profit, so it is represented by 1.25 in Decimal odds). All of our odds are based on the Decimal system, which BET365 is using - in the case here, the opening odds for the Spurs (+3.5 pts.) were @ 1.30 (-333 in U.S.), which means for every $1,000 you lay out, your winnings will be $300 net, i.e. 30%. (Since so many players took the Spurs with (+3.5) pts., the odds have been reduced from 1.30 to 1.25 or (-400) in the U.S. based system (as you stated!). So: 1.30 is not the same as (+130) = 2.30 in Decimal Odds. Explained in Detail: (+130) means, you lay out $100, and you will get back a profit of $130 plus your original investment of $100. Please, learn the type of odds / systems before you go out and bet. This is essential for your success! Please, click here to learn formats - the difference between American Odds and Decimal (Euro) Odds. The Decimal System is much better - you can do calculations easier: The decimal odds have a fractional part separated from the integer part with a decimal separator (e.g. 1.25). The fractional part represents the percentage return of your initial investment (multiplied by 100), i.e. 0.25 x 100 = 25%. Thank you, GOOD LUCK!!!
