San Antonio Spurs - New Orleans Pelicans - NBA

San Antonio Spurs will host the New Orleans Pelicans at the AT&T center tonight, as the game will be available on two channels, Fox Sports New Orleans and NBA TV, with tip-off set for 7:00pm CST.  New Orleans lost last night to the Golden State Warriors, 122-114, in a much closer than anticipated clash. For a 2nd game in a row,  Anthony Davis put up unbelievable numbers: 45 points, 17 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks. He played 40 minutes and committed just 1 turnover.  Spurs are 2-0 in the season already.  They will win this game at home, but the odds are too low to play the game on the Money Line, and the Alt. Point Spread starts high, with (-5.5) points, thus, we do not want to gamble / predict point spread scores.  The Pelicans played no defense in their first 2 NBA games, as they allowed a lot of points - total of 229 pts. [229 rings a bell], i.e. an average of 114.5 PPG.  On the other hand, the San Antonio Spurs are 1st in the league for Points scored - 116 PPG.  The basic lines in Las Vegas show Over/Under 207 points for the game, at the time of publishing our article [our articles are always updated real time EST-New York, below the main photo of a story]. With that, I pick the Option "Alternat. Game Total" at Bet365.com, i.e. (Over 198.5), for which, the odds are reasonable (40% on your money).

UPDATE October 30, 2016 - FINAL Result: San Antonio Spurs  98-79  New Orleans Pelicans. The Spurs registered their 1st home win of the season at the ATT center [home opener] vs. the Pelicans.  Gregg Popovich decided to sit point guard Tony Parker and reserve guard Manu Ginobili as giving them a night of rest - this reflected immediately on the final score.  After 3 quarters, starters Leonard, Aldridge and Gasol were taken out for good to rest for the B2B game vs. the Miami Heat. This reflected badly on the scoreboard, as they game finished way under the projected Las Vegas line - total of 207 pts., and also under our bet-game total of over 198.5.  K. Leonard scored a game-high 20 points, including 16 in the third quarter, a career high for points in one quarter.  Patty Mills, added 18 points on 6-for-9 shooting in just 24 minutes.  Anthony Davis was held just to 18 points on 6 of 15 shooting.
